Foundation Learning - Flexible Training Courses for people aged 14-16

Working closely with your school Indigo have put together training programmes designed to enhance your overall school experience! Each course offers a good learning experience but also qualifications. As it is unit based the more you do the higher the qualification you will receive.

Some programmes have been specifically written for a particular school but here are some examples of course content:

Introducing Construction Skills

Working towards NOCN Skills Towards Enabling Progression – Step–UP Qualifications, practical activities include:

  • Brick and Block
    Activities include: Building a half brick wall.
  • Joinery
    Activities include: Making and fixing shelving and building a bird table.
  • Plumbing
    Activities Include: Using compression and solder joints.
  • Painting and Decorating
    Activities Include: Emulsioning, glossing and tiling.

Introducing Music Technology

Working towards NOCN Skills Towards Enabling Progression – Step–UP Qualifications, vocational activities include :

  • Virtual DJ
    Learn how to mix and produce music generating your own CD!
  • ICT
    Develop your computer skills further using music as a medium.

Introducing Skills for Work

Using the NOCN Skills Towards Enabling Progression – Step–UP Qualifications this is a mixture of elements of the above two courses, for those wanting variety but still gaining a valuable qualification.
