IT User - Levels 2 and 3

Our Information Technology User qualification is aimed at anyone who uses IT in their job.

The qualification is designed to encourage new learning and to assess workplace competence in applying IT skills at work. As no two jobs need the same skills the programme is designed to allow a great deal of flexibility in the units that are chosen and how assessment takes place.

Apprenticeship
The Apprenticeship qualification consists of the following elements:

  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT at Level 1
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • NVQ Level 2 – (see below)

Advanced Apprenticeship
The Advanced Apprenticeship qualification consists of the following elements:

  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT at Level 2
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • NVQ Level 3 – (see below)

Train to Gain
The Train to Gain programme consists of the following elements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 – (see below)

NVQ Level 2 Diploma
At level 2 learners will be using IT within their job role. Units can be taken at a variety of levels which gives flexibility to enable the qualification to match job roles. The qualification will allow learners to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a level recognised by employers, thus proving competency in their job role.

38 credits are required to achieve the full diploma, of which a minimum of 20 credits must be selected from level 2 units. The remaining credits can be selected from level 1 or level 3 units enabling a more customised qualification to be created.

NVQ Level 3 Diploma
At level 3 learners will be using IT within a variety of settings. This qualification builds on skills learnt at level 2 and required learners to demonstrate they are able to produce work of a more complex nature. Units can be taken at a variety of levels which gives flexibility to enable the qualification to match job roles. The qualification will allow learners to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a level recognised by employers, thus proving competency in their job role.

39 credits are required to achieve the full diploma, of which a minimum of 20 credits must be selected from level 3 units. The remaining credits can be selected from level 1 or level 2 units enabling a more customised qualification to be created.

Funding is available in most cases.

NVQ Level 3 Information Technology – £1,250 + VAT
